Patrik Sandell’s move to from rally to rallycross this season has showed a success, with a third place in his debut race i X Games Brazil. Beside his X Games schedule the Swede now announces his participation before his home crowd at the European Rallycross Championship event in Höljes.
The former Junior World Rally Champion started out his rallycross career with team OlsbergsMSE by claiming bronze medal in the X Games Brazil. Sandell then followed it up by winning the showcase race at Solvalla in Stockholm during the Swedish Touring Car Championship.
And now he reveals that there will be another race in front of his home crowd, as Sandell is participating in the European Rallycross Championship in Höljes.
– It will be a blast to drive there. I have heard so much good about both the contest and the festival around it. But I’ve never been there myself so I’m really looking forward to, says Patrik
The Swede is now entering a heated period with five races in four weeks. It starts with a double event in Munich the last weekend in June. Then he heads home for the race in Höljes before continuing on for two races in the U.S.. First in Loudon New Hampshire, and the weekend after in Bristol, Tennessee.
– Yes there is a lot going on now. It feels great and I’m really charged for these races. It is clear that thise event in Sweden means something extra for me. It’s always good fun to run at home. We go for victory, says Patrik.
